Privacy Policy
Your information. Treated with care.
Privacy Policy for the Dr Zandile Spengane specialist dermatology website.
Who is responsible?
This notice describes information use by Dr Spengane Dermatologist, the practice owned by Dr Zandile Spengane.
For privacy enquiries or requests, contact Practice Manager Alida Petersen at info@dermatologistincapetown.co.za or 021 100 4655.
Contact enquiries
The enquiry form uses your name, email address and chosen topic on your device to prepare text you can send yourself. The website does not submit or store the enquiry. Do not include ID numbers, medical history or clinical photographs.
If you email the practice, your email provider and the practice process your details to respond. Privacy and data-retention questions can be directed to the Practice Manager using the contact details above.
Bookings and external services
Online booking takes place on DrDerma, under that provider’s privacy notice. Review it before submitting personal information. Map links open Google Maps only when selected.
The sun-awareness widget requests forecast data from Open-Meteo for fixed Cape Town coordinates, not your device location. The request exposes connection information such as your IP address to the weather provider. Google Fonts and hosted practice images also receive standard connection information required to deliver files.
Retention, cookies and security
Medical records are retained for at least six years after an adult patient’s last treatment, and records for minors are retained until age 21. Financial records are retained for five years. These periods may be extended where law or professional obligations require it.
No advertising or patient-tracking analytics have been intentionally added. Form details are not saved in browser storage. Website and external service providers may process limited technical connection data needed to deliver and secure their services under their own privacy terms.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction or deletion of personal information, or object to processing. Contact the Practice Manager using the details above. You may also contact the South African Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
